Registration is open for Building Your Music Program, the third in our professional development workshop series for pre-service and early career music teachers!

On Saturday, March 19 at 12:30 pm ET you’ll have the chance to connect with music educators from across the country, and to learn what it takes to build and grow your music program from experienced music teachers who have been there.

We invite you to join us on Wednesday, March 2 at 7:00 pm ET for the next installment of the CMEC Town Hall Series, Music Advocacy in the Face of Severe Budget Cuts: SD61, presented by Cindy Romphf and Karin Kwan.

In the Spring of 2021, the Greater Victoria School District faced budget cuts and the community faced massive funding cuts to all middle school music programs, all elementary strings programs, and the Island Ukulele program. Through sheer hard work and teamwork, the community of Victoria was able to save the majority of their music programs for one year.

Cindy Romphf is the President of the SD61 Music LSA and Karin Kwan is the Chair of the Community group “Advocacy for Music In Schools”.
